We have considered Einstein equations in harmonic coordinates and we have shown that the equations governing relativistic strings are the necessary and sufficient conditions required to preserve harmonicity condition during motion. Moreover it has been shown that the equations governing strings written in a timelike transverse gauge are the same as the equations governing Born-Infeld electrodynamics with radiation gauge.

Si sono considerate le equazioni di Einstein in coordinate armoniche e si è dimostrato che le equazioni che governano le corde relativistiche rappresentano le condizioni necessarie e sufficienti a conservare le condizioni di armonicità durante il moto. Si è mostrato inoltre che le equazioni che governano le stringhe, scritte nel gauge temporale, sono le stesse dell'elettrodinamica di Born-Infeld nel gauge di radiazione.
